Well, this weekend has been a complete exercise in futility. We get here over two hours late on friday because we end up getting into the ultrasound late, partially because Rachel isn't ready to go in time and we're late getting to the hospital, although we WOULD have been there in time had we not been told to go to the wrong place...

Had I got there in time, I would have been at the con, not at the party with the Jem people... OK, I admit that if I had just been more <Censored> intellegent and gone to bed at 1am, Rachel probably would have been awake enough to set the alarm clock properly so that we would have been able to get up in time to get to ConCeption yesterday. That was my own fault. It was also my fault that I missed the Kingmaker game yesterday, because I managed to read a schedule like 6 times and not notice the 7pm Kingmaker game :(

Oh well, at least I would go and do something today right? Well, guess what... This morning I cant get Rachel up... Then she leaves without the directions *sigh* I love her, but jeez, shes NEVER on time to anything and it really annoys me how I miss a lot of stuff when I have to rely on her to be on time :( I almost missed the 9am D&D game on Friday at Dragon Con because she set the alarm wrong .

Turned out that it didn't matter this time. Hardly anyone shows up today, and neither Kingmaker nor Diplomacy has enough to even play, so, basically, I came to Chicago to get drunk with a bunch of Jem panelists and watch the hated Cub fans celebrate winning the division...

I had fun on Friday night, but it wasn't worth coming all this way for. I guess I should have drove too. If we had both cars, I could have at least drove up to the Brewers/Padres game today, but then. the point of coming to Chicago for me at all was that she was already coming, so we weren't using any extra gas or spending money on a hotel room for a really tiny gaming con that isn't even marketed outside Chicago. Meh. :(

I would love to find a first edition Kingmaker set in good condition. I had a second edition, lost in the apt. fire of course, but I never liked it because they changed the map board, but not the coordinates in the game itself, so truly the map was not the territory!

Did you read my GenCon reports yet? I played a couple games of it there :)

I just bought a 2nd ed "Near Mint" one off Ebay yesterday (I like the larger map myself...)

I'm going to try to nab a 1st ed one in "fair" condition tomorrow because it has the 25 extra event cards and variant rules as part of the package.

The only thing I didn't like about the one I got was that it did NOT have those.

Tell ya what, if I get it, I'll give it to you if you like. It is supposed to be missing only one faction counter (not that big of a deal). All I ask in return is we get a game together either in November, May or both. Deal?

Here is the picture of the one I'm going to bid on. Looks used, but still usable. I am keeping the 25 extra event cards however... There is someone selling those separately on ebay right now if you want those. Right now, those are going for more than this entire game however, so I might as well try for the game.
